The 4,000-square
foot condo is very
home-like, Meador
said. “It doesn’t seem
like a condo at all,
except for the beautiful
views. The home’s
design is not ‘beachy’
in any way, but we did
bring the sea and sky
into the space with art,
beautiful displays of
coral and shells, and
other natural items.”

The Porter’s home is one of only 23 residences in
the luxurious 14-story Palms of Perdido, a condominium
project that developers Teresa and Dick Domurat
believe is the most unique landmark property for the
Gulf Coast.
“This is a beautiful area. We fell in love with the
pristine beaches and lifestyle when we bought our first
home here nearly 25 years ago,” said Dick. “Having
acquired adjacent beachfront over time, we envisioned
The Palms to be upscale residences, but designed with
caring sensitivity and respect for the area’s natural
resources and early history.”
Applying their combined 70 years of experience in
designing, building, and furnishing high-quality commercial
projects, the couple conceived and created a
stunning Mediterranean-style building. Elegant exterior
details include cobblestone pavers and granite
curbs, cast-stone arches, balustrades and columns, and
a custom-designed fountain with stone mosaic tiles.
Inside, old-world elegance continues, with period
furnishings, handcrafted cherry beams, Spanish plaster,
and custom cabinetry. “Since this is also our own
home, we take a lot of pride in it,” said Teresa. “We
can look at the results and know that the time and
effort we put into the details was worth it. The execution
of those details sets The Palms apart from every
other building on the Gulf Coast.”
The building meets and exceeds the highest construction
standards, Dick said, but he and Teresa wanted
more than just quality construction. “We created a
quality lifestyle for Palms’ residents and their families.”
