contemporary designs to be cold, but
this home is anything but that.
Meador created a glamorous, contemporary
style with hints of retro
Hollywood Regency and striking
choices in art and lighting.
The Porters love the finished product.
“It’s just what we wanted, and we
couldn’t be more pleased,” said
Charles. ”Our daughter, Jana, owns
Charmed, a boutique in Gulf Shores,

“The Porters wanted a soft, glamorous and contemporary feel for their home. We met once to
go over color choices, and we really clicked right from the start. They were wonderful to work
with. They knew what they liked and what they didn’t. We completed the core of the design in
perhaps two more visits, and then, over the next couple of months, I filled in the details. I loved

wonderful.”
Meador started with an unexpected color palette - shades of gray and green with touches of
mustard and ochre. The resulting look is grounded in nature with some of Meador’s signature
surprises.
“Generally, I like for a color palette to flow throughout the house, but often in each room, I’ll
throw in a kicker just to get attention,” she said. Attention-getters in this home include a silver
chrome chandelier in the dining room, a gold sunburst mirror in the master bedroom, and a delicate,
natural sea fan in a grayish/lavender color that graces a bedside table. “It’s a beautiful piece
that recognizes the condo’s beach setting, and it’s an incredible color for this home – very fashion
forward,” said Meador.
