TThe Wharf in Orange Beach, Ala., is one of the areas
most exciting developments with businesses, resident condos,
a huge Ferris Wheel (the second largest in the
Southeast), AND the new Guy Harvey’s Island Grill,
gallery, and shop.
Guy Harvey, a scientist, artist, diver, explorer, and conservationist
loves the sea and its inhabitants, and what better
place to feature his creations than Orange Beach. The
Island Grill is not only an intriguing restaurant, it’s a sight
to behold.
From the moment you walk through the Guy Harvey
Shop, or the Sports Bar Game Room with its pool table,
TV screen, video games, and even an air hockey Dynamo
table, the oohhing and aahhing doesn’t stop. The kids will
love this area and entertain themselves, while the adults
enjoy lunch or dinner.
And wait until you catch your first glimpse of the 50
foot-long boat bar that defines imagination and creative
vision, right there on the intracoastal waterway, with a
bustling marina and yachts. Guy Harvey, who lives in the
Cayman Islands, has said, “I want this to be a landmark
spot,” and he has succeeded.
The Island Grill menu features a “selection of popular
entrees,” including the Island Grill Special, Last Shrimp
Standing. What is it? A mound of lightly breaded shrimp,
tossed with a secret spicy sauce, and served with steamed
vegetables and Island rice. Of course, there’s also burgers,
crab cake sandwich, fish & chips, Jamaican Jerk chicken,
the Bounty of Seven Seas, cinnamon apple stuffed pork
chop, plus so many more choices. It’s interesting to note,
