Armed with more than 5,000 swatches, the team at Angelic Creations, Inc. is ready for anything.
This “distributor of fine fabrics and trimmings,” and high-end interior design shop, is home to three
design consultants, including owner Angela Kelly.
Angela’s 25-year background in upholstery, and 15 years in drapery design, lends a creative
eye toward odd, hard-to-treat window treatments. The shop’s custom work includes bedding
and slipcovers. They also carry plantation shutters, blinds, and drapery hardware.
“We’re well pleased with the local response, especially in this economy,” said
Angela. “People are spending more resources at home, to make their surroundings
more pleasant.”
Arnaldo Baez provides his expertise, with 23 years in the design business. He
is a graduate of the Miami School of Design. Rossana Frye is an Art Institute
of Pittsburgh graduate, with a certificate in residential design. Her knowledge
is practical.
“We’re a showroom for Duralee, Ado, Robert Allen, Kravet,
Maxwell, and Fabricut,” said Rossana. “We’re not only a wonderful
resource for the trade and the public, but we also offer innovative
design ideas, as they relate to space, function and aesthetics.”
“People are switching more to natural fabric: linen, silks and
cotton,” she added. ”These can either be dressed up or down.
We can add a band of a complementary color along the
leading edge of a drapery panel, to introduce another
color into the space. And, we can change the pleat
style to create a more formal, or a casual feel.”
If customers are undecided about furniture,
she suggests solid colors first.
“Patterns come and go. It’s a lot easier

They’re stitched, embroidered, beaded,
stamped and painted. They come in solid,
patterns, textures, brocade and suede. Fabrics
are also printed, dyed and embossed. Even
flocked fabric is still popular.
