burst of color and surprise to the
home’s otherwise dignified décor. “We
wanted to do something fun and totally
unexpected,” said Debbie. “Guests
sometime ask if the room was there
before. It was, but no one remembers
it. Now, it’s truly memorable.”

“The water didn’t get up to the
mechanism, but of course, the
dampness affected it,” Anita
recalled. “But the piano never left
the house. We wrapped it in plastic
stretch wrap and covered it with
blankets. When we finally had to
move it to put the floor in, I was
afraid to plug it in; the old player
disc was all rusted. But Debbie said
we should try, so we put in a new
disc, plugged it in, and it worked
beautifully. I have to say, it’s one of
our most prized possessions.”
Anita loves her home’s new
look. “I’m very happy with the way
it turned out. I just hope that we
don’t have to do this again any time
soon.”
